AER 2880C Electric Vehicle Battery Management (N)

In this course, students explore safety topics related to electric vehicles and learn the foundations of electric vehicle battery management. Students learn topics including personal protection equipment, high voltage gloves inspection techniques, high voltage measuring equipment, high voltage safety systems, interlocks, discharge systems, manual disconnect systems, and isolation fault detection systems. In the second half of the course, students learn electric vehicle battery management. Students explore EV battery terminology, the battery technology for both Lithium- Ion and Nickel Metal Hydride batteries, battery pack removal and replacement, battery tools, and battery pack diagnostics.
