ASL 1140 American Sign Language I

In this course, students develop their conversational abilities in American Sign Language (ASL), gaining both a practical skillset and a deeper appreciation and awareness of deaf culture. Students learn to master the basic grammatical features of ASL, improving their understanding and effective communication in the language. They participate in various activities that strengthen both their receptive and expressive skills, providing a comprehensive learning experience. This environment supports students in exploring and understanding the deaf community and its culture.
