Indian River State College awards a Dental Assisting Technology and Management Associate in Science Degree to each student who satisfactorily completes the required course of study. The purpose of the program is to provide students with a comprehensive general education and the fundamental entry-level skills to become competent dental assistants through specialized technical training. Additionally, students complete coursework to prepare for work in related fields such as dental marketing, dental office management, or dental education. The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Upon successful completion of the curriculum, the graduate will be prepared for a career as an expanded function dental assistant as established in the state Dental Practice Act.
