Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid
There are three components to IRSC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards (SAP) for Financial Aid Recipients:
- Financial Aid recipients are expected to maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA for all classes attempted, including transfer credits.
- Financial Aid recipients must successfully complete 70% of all credits attempted for the Fall 2015 term, including transfer credits, and 67% of all credits attempted effective with the Spring 2016 term, including transfer credits.
- Financial Aid recipients must complete their degree or certificate within a specified time-frame, based on enrollment status.
In general, students who have attempted more than 150% of credits in their program of study will not be eligible to continue to receive financial aid at IRSC, even if some of these credits were attempted at another institution.
Certain Financial Aid programs may have more restrictive guidelines. More specific SAP guidelines may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of, and to adhere to, all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
