BCN 1214 Materials and Methods of Construction - Basic Structure
In this course, students explore how a variety of construction materials and methods— including site construction, concrete, masonry, metals, wood, and plastics (MasterFormat sections 1–6)—impact building costs, long-term performance, and maintenance. Students evaluate and compare traditional and emerging materials and techniques, developing an understanding of their advantages and limitations. Through a builder’s perspective, students gain practical knowledge of proper installation procedures and construction processes used in the field.
