DES 1800L Introduction to Clinical Procedures Lab
In this course, students learn practical skills in dentistry. The student actively participates in scheduled dental evaluations. Students study dental clinic topics such as professionalism, the dental office, patient reception, positioning for the delivery of care, instrument exchange and oral evacuation. Students learn concepts, including disease transmission and infection control, principles and techniques of disinfection, principles and techniques of instrument procession and sterilization, occupational health and safety, chemical and waste management, patient information and assessment, vital signs, oral diagnosis and treatment planning, coronal polishing, the history of dentistry, and the roles of dental health team.
