EDG 4410 Classroom Management and Communication
In this course students explore the basic skills and knowledge for creating a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction and effective communication among members of the learning community. Students will become familiar with a variety of classroom management strategies. Areas of study include designing the physical environment, establishing norms for behavior, encouraging student motivation and accountability, cooperative learning, principles for dealing with inappropriate behavior, and working with student families. A minimum of 15 hours of early field experience in a classroom and an additional fee for a background check by the school district are required.
