FFP 1510 Fire Codes & Standards

In this course, students discuss and apply the Florida Fire Prevention Code which includes NFPA 1, NFPA 101, FSS633 and FAC69A. Students research the codes and apply them to inspection activities. Students discuss the history and philosophy of fire prevention, including code enforcement; public information; organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau; utilization of fire codes; identification and correction of fire hazards; and the relationships of fire prevention with firefighter safety, built-in fire protection systems, fire investigation, and fire and life-safety education through identification of the laws, rules, codes, and other regulations relevant to fire protection.
