MUT 1111 Theory of Music I

In this course, students explore various elements of musical form and analysis (melody, harmony, rhythm, and structure) and develop introductory skills in the science of music theory.  The musical concepts presented in this course are primarily based in the Western tradition and students analyze simple, familiar musical literature. Students also prepare for continued study of music theory.
