Emergency Medical Technician – Applied Technology Diploma

The Applied Technology Diploma in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is awarded to students completing the required 11-credit course of study. The purpose of the program is to prepare competent entry-level emergency medical technicians in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. The program meets the requirements set forth in the National EMS Education Standards in State of Florida statutes and administrative code through classroom lecture, skills laboratory, clinical rotations, and field internship courses.
Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians' (NREMT) EMT certification exam. Graduates passing the exam will be awarded the Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician credential and will be eligible to apply for licensure with the State of Florida.
