STS 1340C Pharmacology & Anesthesia
In this course, students explore general pharmacological concepts and principles utilized in the management of the surgical patient. Effective administration of therapeutic drugs, indications, and contraindications are discussed, including effects of medication on body systems. Drug classifications and their principal action are reviewed. Techniques include medication identification, administration, and management within the sterile field.
