The nuclear power industry is experiencing a period of unprecedented need for power plant technicians both nationally and within the state of Florida. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) estimates that more than 41,000 new technicians will be needed over the next 20 years and the starting salaries for these technicians are above the national average throughout the country. The Electrical Power Technology program has the following options: instrumentation and control, electrical, mechanical, and radiation protection. In addition to an admissions application, candidates must successfully pass a series of tests prescribed by our industrial partner, Florida Power and Light. Attendance at an Information Session is required.
